The Other Woman, Inc.

The (Brief) Story Behind The Other Woman, Inc.

Without having to think much about it, I can recall the exact moment the idea for The Other Woman, Inc. was born. At the time, I was still working for the Motorola Corporation doing a job that had me traveling all over the country. I was young, looking forward to life, and--it just so happens--pregnant.

By some fluke my best friend at the time was pregnant also, and we had the same due date. It didn't take long for me to decide to leave corporate life and devote as much time as possible to my first child. But what to do to support myself?

My friend and I brainstormed and came up with The Other Woman. So this company happens to be the same age as my oldest daughter.  In the beginning, I ran The Other Woman from my home office, complete with screaming kids and barking dogs.  As my clientele grew, my business grew.  Within the first six months my friend stepped away from the business, and I had hired my first employees. They remain my friends today and are a part of my family, as much as my own children.

You can probably tell that family, friends, and business have always been important to me.  As a single mom, I understand how important peace of mind can be, and how loyalty is formed by keeping your promises. I run my business like a family, which means I take care of my clients and my employees. For example, I refuse to pay my employees anything close to as low as minimum wage. That's uncommon for an industry where many workers are undocumented immigrants who aren't treated fairly.  And my employees return the favor: when they are treated well, they treat my clients well.

I also bend over backwards for the people who hire The Other Woman and trust us with their homes and lives. You'll even find me cleaning homes once in a while if someone calls in sick.  My clients know me, they know my employees, and I always return their trust with excellent service.

Life's been good to me, and The Other Woman helps return that good Karma by helping my clients lead their own rewarding lives.  I run my business the way I live my life: honest, open, flexible, and dependable.

Now how can I help you live a stress-free life too?

Sincerely,

Loy Kiser

Help every week

I use The Other Woman as a catch all for anything that I have been unable to get to during the week.  I sit down the night before they come and write my list.  I never have time to wash the linens on any of the beds, so that is on the list every week, the rest can include: sweep the side porch, wipe out the fridge, baseboards, reorganize the linen closet.  I like being able to ask for something different every week.
